They will deplete detrivore populations such as amphipods, bristle worms, and other small inverts which are all good for the overall health of a reef tank so unless you have a fairly large tank and alot of lr, I'd stay away from one in a reef, IMO.
Well, that's not exactly accurate. I had to remove a sixline wrasse from my current reef for nipping at corals. I think it is uncommon, but not unheard of. I would give them the benefit of the doubt, they are a cool and active fish, just be midful of what they are doing in your tank.
