slug lookin thing

ok well i was abserving my tank and noticed a slug crawling across the rocks. he just seemed to be cruising around minding his own buisness. kinda looked like a snail that lost his shell. what was it? no pics unfortunatly. it was about 3/4" long. any thoughts?
