Small colourful fish?!

Can anyone recommend some pretty, colourful, community fish, no bigger than about 3 inches. I already have the obvious neon tetras

Honey gouramis - the males are stunning in full colour
Any of the dwarf gourami varieties
A male siamese fighter (betta)
smaller rainbow fish such as neon dwarf rainbow
columbian redfin tetra

many others are colourful in their own right when viewed up close - even common stuff such as zebra danio, pearl danio, white cloud maountain minnow.... the list is endless really!! Get yourself a good book by Herbert R Axelrod, for instance

pencil fish, though you may not be able to find one
Platys are pretty colorful
Dwarf gouramis I agree with, however I find them disturbingly susceptible to iridiovirus



Just watch out for live bearers (guppy and platy), you'll have 2 then you'll have 20.

I have the blue ly retail killifish I believe .. Love the color of the male . I love my dwarf honey sunset gourami color too. I have guppy an orange platy, sunburst platy too and some endlers as well as my peppered and juli cory cats and my snails

All variations of rams, Apistos, some killies have amazing colors peacock gudgeons

Peacock Gudgeons are simply amazing. They're small but oh my are they a Pastel of color!

In the past few months I've set up 2 larger tanks with nano fish. Some of the more colorful ones I have are:

Purple Pencilfish
Red Arc Pencilfish
Ember Tetra's
Chili Rasbora's
Neon Rasbora's- blue variant
Burmese Rosy Loaches
Dario sp Junita Hill

Then some unique nano fish that aren't as bright are:

Clown Killifish
Dwarf Anchor Cats
Blue Cobalt Gobies (but they like to dig)
Apisdoras

I also have some very colorful killifish:

Gold Australe killi
Chocolate killi
Rachovii Killi
Splendid killi

With nano fish you can usually keep colorful small shrimp species.
