We have three cats, but Squirrel is the one I talk about most. She's the youngest at 4 years old, a big ball of fluff and the most photogenic. When she's not sleeping

or giving Trevor mouth to mouth

...she's getting into things that she cannot get out of.

This is her file drawer mishap from a few months ago before we moved. I saw her crawl into the top, but it wasn't until she started crying did I realize she wasn't able to get out without some help. I "walked" her down to the lowest drawer and then pulled out most of the files.

Here is she resting after her horrible ordeal

It should have come as no surprise when she got stuck at our new place. I was getting ready for work and we heard scuffling. Since Squirrel likes to open cabinets and crawl in, Trevor began checking. When he saw this, he called me over

Upon opening the flatware drawer, we could see

Trevor was able to get the flat ware out and pull Squirrel to safety

Then she promptly laid down for a nap (looking a tad ashamed)

That's funny! Great pics too.
Maybe you should buy Squirrel an old garage sale dresser, and cut a few inches off the back of each drawer so she can hade without getting stuck.

BTW, how is Spice doing?

Funny you should mention that. We almost lost her that way. Before the move, we sold our dresser and as I helped the folks load it, out popped Squirrel! The dresser was two feet from being in the truck. The drawers were all out, but she was squished all the way in the back.

Spice is doing okay. We have opted not to go with chemo, since we are looking at only a possible year of life for her, which includes the 6 months that chemo would take. The cost is also a huge factor, especially since Trevor is still job hunting :(

Cats are so funny. My mom's cat spent the whole day and 1/2 the night in her underwear drawer before she was rescued once! Jumped in while mom was getting dressed in the morning...
