A middle school science teacher friend of mine attempted to set up a trout tank last year and it failed big time. After talking to her the information was hit and miss with some holes on set up and upkeep. At this time the teacher has a 55 gallon tank, filter ( I have not seen it to check its out put) and a chiller. The information that she was told was totally different from what I do with aquarium care. She talked to an"expert" and they did not tell her about cycling the tank and said no water changes. Let me know what works so she does not have a disaster this year.
Thanks
Thanks,

Trout need pristine water which generally means large water volume (much larger than 55G) and high turnover. Check into the legalities as well. The keeping of "game" fish is fairly tightly controlled.
