storing salt water

I have a 20 gallon tank. A 10% water change every 2 weeks is only 2 or so gallons. Can I mix 5 or 10 gallons of salt water and store it until I need it ? Will it be ok in sealed buckets for weeks at a time ?

Yes, you can, & yes, it will.

Only thing I recommend is to drop a small heater & powerhead in it the evening prior to the day of your water change, just to make sure it's agitated & up to temperature (within a couple degrees of your tank).

makes it much easier to make 10 gallons at a time. Should I keep the buckets in a dark place or does it matter ?
