I have a male platy that recently developed some spots. I'm concerned that it is some kind of disease. The spots are slightly raised and off white. They are brighter in color than the off white color of the platy and have appeared within a three day period. None of the other fish in my tank seem affected.
The tank the platy was in is a 5 gal. It has two other platys, two otto cats, and a couple of ghost shrimp. The water perimeters were (NH3 0ppm) (NO2 0ppm) (NO3 15ppm) (pH 7.9) (temp 78 F). I don't think it is a water problem, I do 40% weekly PWCs.
I removed the affected platy and set up a hospital tank. I have been running it at 81 F with a little over 1T salt per gal. I wait to see changes. Its been three days. Any idea what it could be?
