Hey guys,
I'm setting up a freshwater 20 gallon tank with a few plants. I'm hoping the finished product will be heavily planted and be a nice home to my male betta and some panda corys.
Before doing much research, I bought the midnight-colored eco-complete as the substrate I was going to use, added water, and began planting.
My tank was ready for me to start putting a couple corys in, but after reading up I found out that they need a smoother substrate, so i was wondering if it was okay to top the eco-complete with fluval stratum or if that would somehow throw off the water quality.
If i was to cap it with the fluval, do I have to completely remove the water and plants or can i try to strategically place it in as it is?
Also, will i have to increase the waiting time before putting the corys in?
