Hey there-
I would like to change the substrate in my 10g to something better for my plants but want to make sure it's okay for the current occupants. Right now, I have a mystery snail and one blue dream shrimp in there, the substrate is finer gravel topped with slightly larger stones. I have a bag of Mr. Aqua plant soil just kicking around and I see a lot of people use the Fluval Stratum, but I've heard that too much of the Fluval is bad for snails (but good for shrimp.) Is Eco Complete the way to go? Seachem Flourite?
At the end of the day, I want to help my plants/aquascape but would rather keep my kids happy and healthy. Thoughts?
