Have 2 male convicts and I had to divide the tank because of aggression and was wondering what else could go in there!

It could go both ways...
Way one: the gourami gets along fine with the convict
Way two: the gourami and convict don't get a long at all
You could try it... but if it doesn't work you probably need to bring the gourami back to the store.

Maybe you should return one of the convicts, get rid of the divider, and then you could do a fast and agressive school (tiger barbs or serpae tetras are options) to be with them.
