I agree. This is a more ideal temp range 72-78°F, for most fish. The most important thing is to keep the temp stable.
 
Ok i was just looking to see if it was ok to put my LR into since i just ordered 45 lbs of it and it will be here on wed ... but thanks guys that relieves me a bit .... but i would like to get it down to around 75 or 76 for when i add fish ..... is this best way to do this without a chiller just to put a fan blowing on top of it?

I have read quite a few people have been able to lower the temp with a fan.
I don't know how much lower you can get it with a fan. Maybe someone that uses one can tell you their experience.
 
If your lr needs to be cured and your tank has no fish or inverts yet, it is recommended that the water be maintained at 80deg to hasten the curing process.

Just a thought.
