i just wanted to thank everybody that had posted about liquid test vs strips. i have been using test strips for over a year and have had trouble keeping fish alive. the test strips would always read zeros on amonia, nitites and nitrates i was getting really frustrated cause i couldnt figure out why my tank was not cycling. so on the advice of everyone on here i ordered a liquid test kit from sera and after testing all my parameters i found that my water is a little hard and amonia is at zero nitrites are zero and nitrates are at 10mg/l. im very exicted now that i know where my problem lies i have been told not to change water till the tank cycled or if amonia wasnt going away so now i think that my nitrates were getting too high since my strips kept reading zero. thanks again to everyone who helped me with thier advice im so glad i found this sight
