Just a new member, just downloaded the iPhone app tonight.. But I thought I'd share my tank.

My tank has gone from a Koi rescue tank to a hideous blue gravel mess to a planted sand tank that I'm pretty proud of, and I'm sure it'll keep changing.

My tank is stocked with nearly 90 fish; neons, tetras, and a few exotics. I know I've reached the peak of my bioload and my water quality is always perfect or pretty darn close.. So I'm happy. (and yes it is a year old mature tank)

Tank highlights:
Red lotus plant
2x Discus
4x angels
8in Reedfish
7x bamboo Shrimp
A really dumb black moor
3x Pictus cats
6x SAEs

I'm sure some are worried about the moor and the reedfish eating the shrimp. Both good points, would never recommend the combinations to anyone else.. But my fish have pulled it off for months now... moor was an original member of the tank! I'll always be impressed with how well animals adapt to their environment.

In my latest attempt at doing something I shouldn't do I bought two discus from my LFS. I've taken risks before; but even I'm worried about the Discus... I hope Im just paranoid. Anyway it's the end of Day 2, so we'll wait, pray, and see.

I'll post more pictures as I get the chance.. But I'm using an IPhone, which takes horrible pictures.

Cool tank.

Maybe it's not that your moor is dumb. Maybe it's just confused because they're coldwater fish that require a colder temp than tropicals and a diet consisting primarily of vegetable matter, whereas tropicals need warmer water and more protein.

He is confused, dumb, always eating, seemingly always happy, and my wife's favorite. So like it or not, he is a tropical fish now! ;)

That blue discus looks pretty bad IMO... Check your levels and do a water change. Discus can be hard to keep but I know they like there water certain PH and what not depending on where they came from. Your tank should be pretty close to the store you got it from.

My tank params are fine, and they are eating. I think they are just a little stressed about their new world. Remember this was only their second day.

They started to venture out a little tonight. I hope i can take that as a good sign.

IME if they are eating, your discus are on the right track, but I wouldn't say you were out of the woods quite yet. Good luck, hope everything works.
