The Snail and the Oxygen Bubble

While photographing the oxygen bubble before it lifted off the 1" wide Hydrocotyle leucocephala (Brazilian Pennywort) leaf, this snail climbed atop the leaf and crawled directly into the bubble.

Adorable. :) A couple of days ago I actually bought my first snail because my 2 year old daughter fell in love with it.(a black mystery snail) I am surprised at how quickly it gets around! Before, I wouldn't have believed you that it crawled up there while you were preparing to take the picture, but snails' reputation on being slow is a little overrated.

Not only is that pic awesome, but the shrimp, flying fox, and neon tetra photos in your gallery are too.

For those who've asked, I use a Nikon D/SLR with a 105mm micro-Nikkor lens.
