I was at Petco yesterday and seen Bettas that I have never even heard of or seen until then. "King Betta". I was like.. Whoa.. lol. Anyway, I am really excited about purchasing one especially since I got the go ahead from the GF lol. The Betta seemed huuuuge and there is a very decent selection of them.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a single Betta tank. We already own a Crown-Tail who is in a 20ga with a few shrimp and tetras. But, I am thinking of a much smaller set up which we can keep in our room and the King Betta by himself.

:D

A 5 gallon tank with a 25 watt heater, incandescent hood, and proper filtration should be all you need. Of course some substrate and whatever else you want. You could always do a planted aquarium, my betta loves his. Just have to research the plants and their needs. Crypts, java moss, and java fern seem to be good ones for first time plant keepers.
