I have personally kept these guys. The real problem is that if they are from poor stock then you can easily spend lots of cash replacing them. Most from direct imports are of great quality.
They do best in groups of 12 or so as they don't get very big. They generally like to flare thier fins whenever they are in large groups like that which is what makes them really cool.
When selecting these fish from stores, make sure that they look nice and fat and also look for possible rips in their fins. If you see rips then stay away.
