Tiny hitch hiker ID

Like it's super tiny, to tiny to get a proper pic of. It has a skinny stalk which attaches to a bell that looks like an upside down umbrella. They pulse much like Xenia, closing their tentacles around their "mouth". I don't think it's apista as the upside down umbrella thing but I have no other clue

if it is free floating it is most likely an apista larvae form.

from what your describing sounds like a feather duster ,
now the only way to get a proper ID is with a pict as we can only guess by what you tell us
