I am purchasing a 6" tiretrack eel for my 1 55gal aquarium with external filter, what method could i best ward off an escape artist? I really dont want to come home to a dead or dying fish because of my neglect.

Welcome to AA!

I'd recommend a glass top or a mesh lid. You can build your own with a couple pieces of wood and some replacement screen for screen doors/windows.

Good idea. I never thought of screen from a door. I was gonna lean toward duct tape if noone answered me. Thankyou

Easy! Take zip lock baggies, cut off the ziplock. Then cut the double sided plastic bag to whatever shape/size you need. Only problem is, whenever you take off the lid, youll have to re-do the covering. It is good to replace every so often anyways, to keep the plastic strong and the tape sticky.

This the exact way i keep my peacock eel in the tank:)
