My last order of liverock came complete with several large mollusks that were not attached to the rock (along with hundreds that were). I put them in the tank and I can tell they are alive, but am wondering what would happen should they die? Would the dead mollusk reak havoc on my levels? Should I remove those that are not attached?

I'm assuming they're not all that big, less than an inch? If so, they won't cause any more of a spike than the rest of the LR will when first introduced after shipping. If they're larger than that, then as long as you remove them when you first notice they're dead you shouldn't have any problems. Even if you dont get them out right away, chances are that the pods, worms and the rest of your cleanup crew will make quick work of them before they even have a chance to decay.
