Brand new tank setup earlier today, 2nd tank ever, 160l (35g).

I'm gonna transfer what we already have in the other tank when this is cycled;

Cherry Barb x2
Swordtail x1
Neon Tetra x3
Serpae Tetra x2
Platy x2

They've all been getting on fine for around a year now.

We're planning to add some new stuff apart from the Neons, they are just for the sake of the other 3.
These are what we're planning on;

Corydora x3
Rosy Barb x5
Neon Tetra x5
Metallic Guppy x5

Is this too much variety in species for the tank?

I've checked the compatibility for them and they all seem to mix but I still have slight worries.

Also, on a side note, I really like the idea of algae eaters or bottom feeders...
I've read that Cories should be kept with sand or fine gravel, is the substrate in the tank too big and jagged for them?

Thanks in advance ;-)

We did have 6 tetras in the beginning but had some issues and 3 died.

That's why I want to get them some more company.
