Hi, I'm still fishing for lots of advice here so if anyone could help, that would be great :)

I was thinking about getting two Dwarf Gouramis along with Tetras to go in my tank which I'll be getting in a few months time. So, focusing on the Gouramis here, I only want two. If I have to get three then by all means I'll get them. But if I got two, would I get two males or two females?

I understand that the males may be aggressive with one another, but what should I get?

I would only add 1 gourami. The females are not as colorful as males anyway and quite a few pet stores only stock males. As you already mentioned 2 males probably won't get along well.

1 dwarf gourami

1 school of either neons, harlequin rasboras or celestial pearl danio

some ghost shrimp and a snail or a school of small cories (pygmy or panda)

1 male gourami then? I guess it wouldn't have any problems in the tank if they're were no other gouramis.

Thanks for your help :)

The males are the pretty ones lol. Which color variant are you thinking to get?

Yeah they are, I guess I'll just have to see which types they have when I take another visit to the store haha.
