Ugly Algae...Leave or Clean?

My tanks are now going on 5 weeks. I kept the front and both sides clean but let the back glass alone for what ever wanted to grow. I don't have snails yet so it's getting pretty nasty looking but I keep telling myself that it's our future livestock's food. Is this ok to leave or should I keep it cleaned? What does it mean by an established tank? One that can grow algae? Dumb questions but I'm a little confused

I just clean the front and sides. I leave the back dirty but I have three tangs that keep nipping at the back glass to keep it respectable. Maybe a dwarf angel in your tank would nip at the back.

Maybe a coral beauty or a flame angel. Just suggestions.
