I was at Aquarama in Singapore last month and purchased a small undergravel filter for a 12 gal cube tank. Asia is very fond of using this filter on shrimp only tanks which is what I'm using it for. The filter covers about half of the footprint of the tank. I'm wondering if I could plant around the filter? Would the constant water movement caused by the filter be detrimental to plant growth or disturb the roots too much?

most people dont like them doesnt mean they cant work. like back hills tj said depending on the plants the roots can get under the plates making it hard to remove them.

how was aquarama? know a few people who went guess it was a little small this year.
