Just bought these but the shop didn't know what they are, any ideas

Looks like a german gold ram

Looks like a variation of electric blue ram



Mine had that golden brown patch on its head to, not as much though

They are german gold rams and you got a great deal they are $11 -$15 a pair by me.

Yes that's mikrogeophagus ramirezi with a gold color mutation. The electric blue ram is another color mutation. That's a good price for the pair.

The fish were for dad's tank in the uk but I'm based in Germany they have an excellent selection of chiclids but haven't come across them befor
