LOL no problem, glad to help!

The good news is, with what you are planning (CO2, ferts, and especially LIGHT!) you will be able to grow all but the highest light, most difficult plants.

my order has been placed....all my stuff is on it's way...the first or second week of march, upgrade should be complete :D SO excited! we also found a light fixture for our 27g hex tank, so it will be able to hold the low-light plants that we will run out of room for. now i only need one more V8 VFusion bottle for my DIY CO2 set up, and the yeast, and i'll be all set to start the upgrade. updates when my order gets here :)

sorry for no updates guys. my computer has crashed again. and I forgot about the iPhone app till now.

anyway, everything is here and set up. it is now running an AC 50, a 48w of T5HO light at 6700k, and DIY CO2 with mini glass diffuser. I'm currently dosing flourish trace, potassium, and nitrogen.

I added plants yesterday morning. I moved over the piece of DW with the two anubias' on it to our hex tank and filled it in with some ludwigia (not sure of the variety), pennywort, contortion vals in the background, and a little red plant that I forgot the name of. the vals and pennywort suffered as they were in a bag overnight, but have a good feeling they will perk up.

let me know what ya think :)

Im totally diggin the driftwood, and I LOOOVE live plants! So beautiful! Thanks for pics :)

thanks everyone :D I'm very pleased with how it came out. and our hex tank looks better as well now. my DIY CO2 setup is working awesome right now, I'm wicked surprised with how easy it was. it's not intimidating at all, the mini glass diffuser made it super simple. now all this tank needs is a couple more pitbull plecos...they seem to be close to impossible for me to find however.

this is our hex tank--
I saw a one and a half foot tall anubias congensis at my LFS I'll be going back for for this tank

hey guys, just thought I'd update. not too sure what's going on with my plants, but most of the previously existing leaves are dying off but the new leaves all look pretty nice. the new ludwigia leaves are bright and red while the old ones were dark and green. the vals are doing much better in these conditions than the last batch in the old set up. I'm just worried they will not have enough room to send off runners. I've been giving some thought to switching out the driftwood, and possibly switching it for the two smaller pieces in the hex tank, or maybe just getting some new driftwood. I just couldn't part with the piece I have. anyway, I'm liking the tank, not sure if I'm loving the moneywort, I'm not exactly sure what to do with it. I've also been terrible about switching out CO2 bottles and dosing ferts, so considering that the tank us actually doing pretty good.

some pictures of our pitbull pleco, who is now out most of the time. notice how much lighter she is while she's sitting in the sand.

the last picture is taken from our other tank, the hex tank, of what I can only assume is a flower pod coming out of our anubias barteri plant. I'm so hoping it pops open one of these days! it's pretty cool anyway :D

Very nice! The tetras looks great too! Can't go wrong with cardinals in a planted tank.....

thanks guys! and thanks again for all your help, fort, couldn't have done it without ya.

yeah I had no clue that anubias' flowered, so we're pretty psyched. been waiting for it to open for a week or better though, not sure if it ever will.
