Starting new 20 gallon high - it fits the available space. Tank will be heavily planted with other natural features -- see pic for partially decorated tank.

I'm thinking of the following, but I would really love to have ideas/opinions about what will work (or not!), or just good suggestions for this tank:

1 male betta
6 corys (sterbai)
6 small schooling type (maybe tetras?)
1 algae eater of some type, but only if needed

AqAdvisor says stock level would be 87% with all of the above. Thoughts?

You'll get some opinions saying not to keep corydoras with gravel only sand, but if it's not sharp gravel they will be fine. For schooling rummynose tetra school the tightest but aren't great in new set ups they do best after a few months of tank being bedded in. If you can't wait that long there's plenty of other tetras to choose from. For algae eaters please avoid common plecs and chinese algae eaters.
