Wanting to switch to sand

What kind of ready to use sand should I get for my 60 gallon community tank ?

I would like a darker colored sand that I can use. I was wanting to get it from PetSmart or Petco, what are some good options?

I currently have no fish right now. Im just going to start all over.

I also am going to want to plant some live plants so that is going to have to be taken in account.

Please help!

i HEAR that black blasting sand is okay to use if you want a black sand (don't take my word for it)

Well you could use play sand, pool filter sand, or specialty aquarium sand. I like the specialty sand because it buffers my Ph. Its a little pricey but comes in a few colors including black.

For a darker colored sand, you could look into some Tahiti Moon sand. For the plants, just use root tabs.
