Water carbonate hardness

ok, here is the deal. i have a R/O system and after the water has been filtered i get a KH reading of 2 which i know is not "hard" enough for SW fish, anyone got any suggestions.

Do i have to wait till i get the salt mixed with the water and aged before i can test for this?

You can test before, but you need to "buffer" the water to get the proper readings. Some say before you add the salt. I would just add the salt and then test. You should be ok then after adding the salt, if not just add the proper buffer to get within normal limits...

exactly. your salt mix is going to contain buffers to bring it back up.

However, a proper RO/DI unit should leave you with undetectable Kh, and a neutral 7.0 pH.
