Yes, as long as it's fresh or if canned, packed in juice.

If its from a can, make sure its packed in plain juice (syrup has too much sugar). If its fresh, remove the skin and make sure its soft and mushy. If its not, place in a bowl with some water and microwave it until its soft or simmer it on the stove.

I added a baby carrot that I peeled and microwaved then I cut it in little prices and placed it in the tank one of them at like 2 or 3 right off the bat and the others haven't really noticed it yet
