I've had my Red Zebra for about two months and i was just wondering if somebody could explain its weird behavior. I bought this figure of this tree that is hollow and fish can go inside it. Well recently my Red Zebra has gone inside and throws out all the gravel under it !!! I watch him carry pebble after pebble from the inside. Is this normal ???? or does this behavior mean something ?

i doubt it, mine did the same..every time a vacced the gravel under his piece of driftwood he'd do it again....and again....and again
untill he'd moved all the gravel and was sitting on the glass

Those cichlids will excavate a territory and often dig down to the glass. The only thing you need to worry about is decor tipping over due to the digging.
