I find Egeria najas (narrow leaf anacharis) to be one of the easiest to grow low lights. It's more resilient than E. densa, does not melt with Excel and will grow fast even without Excel. Ridiculously fast with it. It can however overrun your tank if you don't pay attention to it - but all the attention it needs is a snip here and there.
