49 gallon tank, florite substrate, cycled 2 months, power filter with biowheel, 25 watt fluoresant grow bulb 36 inches, fertilized only 2 times because i stared with only one java fern and just added hair grass, crypts and today mini sowards. It has 2 thread fins, 2 bolivian rams, 4 black neons, and one snail. I have only done one water change at 20 percent. I have been running the light around 10 hours. I learned on here that is to long. Fertilizer type is Flourish by Seachem. Can you use phosban reactors in planted tanks?? Fishdreamz
How do you get your phospates up and nitrates up?? I thought nitrates were bad. What do each do for the plants and effects on fish?
Ok yes I figured this was a problem and thought about adding african buffer into the water. Would that be ok with plants and my fish type if I do have the soft water?? Agreed on the water change. My hesitation is i need a brute container. I scared of water temp change and 50 water change might stress my fish. Do you think I could do smaller water changes more often at this point? Like maybe 20 percet tommorow and 20 every three days and monitor ph??
Where do you get the phosphate testing kit?
