Well I am looking for things other than fish. Like maybe some crab, snail, crawfish or something. I am trying to figure out what is safe

I put 2 crabs w my convicts and Texas cichlids and they killed the crabs also crabs are semi aquatic and they need air.

I have a red eared slider turtle with my convicts jack Dempsey and green terror for years. The turtle ate a lot of fish Over the years but didnt mess with the big cichlids. I just rehomed all of then last week bc they out grew my 55 gallon

It worked for me but you have to make sure you have a big tank with lots of filtration (they are very messy) and a place for the turtle to bask
