What is this algae?

After researching it that is kind of what I thought, cyano is also referred to as red slime algae correct?

Can you suck it off the sand while doing a water change?

Yup red slime and cyano are the same thing.


You can suck it off, but it's just gonna come back if you don't correct the problem. Do you have a lot of flow in that area? What is your phosphate level? And what kind/how long are your lights on?

Phosphate is 0 ppm
I would say low to medium flow .
T-5 lights and are on for 5 hours

I'm thinking I might of been over feeding
 
It may be from over feeding but also you need to have some good flow too. If that cyano is sitting in a really low flow area, that's why.
