What is this? Eggs?

So I got my first stock in my new tank (after a fishless cycle) two days ago and this morning found this on the inside of the lid....

My stock is 2 fish (endler livebearers) & a golden apple snail and a couple of tiny tiny snails that hitchhiked on my plants...

Those are mystery snail (apple snail) eggs.

Wow that's what I would have guessed but thanks. It must have been waiting to drop them when I picked it up at LFS.

Am I right in saying these snails normally need male & female to reproduce - so this shouldn't happen again!?

They do but females can store sperm similar to livebearer females.

Ah ok thanks again. Im Learning lots since buying this tank with no clue about anything a few weeks ago!
