what is this on my rock?

What is this lump on my rock? It looks like there are lots of eggs inside or something.

Can someone please tell me what it is?

Hmm, how big is it? What types of snails do you have in the tank? Could be snail eggs.

It's about 1cm wide. It has been there for months.

I have four small snails. Don't really know what type they are though. I only know they eat algae.

it certainly looks like an egg sack of some sort. If it wasn't in a fish tank I'd say spiders lol.

Is it possible for you to get a closer shot of it? It appears white in the photo, is that an accurate representation?


my guess is... any time now you're going to a bunch of tiny something swimming around

It is white, maybe very slightly off-white.

Should I get rid of it? or should I just wait and see what comes out?

I have no idea what It is, but Id say you'd be best off at taking it out and putting it in a seperate tank by itself, and if you like what hatches, just put them back in!
