What is this on top of my dwarf water lettuce?

There are some of these on top of the plants. I don't know if it's some sort of egg? Does it look familiar to anyone?

That's what I thought they might be but I don't have any snails. I had one mystery snail for a really long time but it recently died.
 
I haven't bought any new plants for at least 4 months. I guess I'll just keep an eye on them and see what happens
 
Oh just read another post about mystery snail, and they said they lay above water on plants.
 
It's a little hard to tell from the pic; are you sure you don't have any more snails? lol Pond snail eggs loo like like clear jelly sacks. It might also just be that the plants are pearling which means they're very happy. :)
 
A little while after I got my plants I saw one small snail. But just one and I haven't seen it in about 2 months. I don't know what kind it was. Maybe it was what you said about pearling. What is pearling exactly?
