I found this on top of my drip tray to my bio balls in my 14g bio cube. I have no clue what it is, is it a snail out of its shell? it was somewhat hard not squishy please help. Thanks

Looks like a piece of black silicone caulk from the tank that broke loose to me.

I dont see anywhere on the tank that black silicone was used, or broken. it has me stumped, i was kinda creeped out by it at first because of the unique look it has.....definitely not a rat turd. lol

That is def black silicone. U can tell it was put on and never wiped, so it was probably in the top somewhere. Nothing to worry about.
