What Andy Sager said is true, but the situation is often even worse for marine aquarium fishes, as suppliers often simply make up names. Some of these names are very misleading (as in this case ... it behaves like neither a goby or a blenny), but more importantly do not allow the hobbyist to search out information on the species. Sometimes the made-up names catch on, leading to some accumulation of information on the internet or in other sources, but even so, there is usually much more information out there under the scientific names. That is one reason why I always try to provide accurate scientific names when I identify fish on this forum.
