What kind of fish can I get?

So I have a jack Dempsey cichlid and I'm upgrading his tank to a 55 gallon. I want to know what other kind of cichlid I could get with my jack Dempsey and put in the 55 gallon tank.

I think JDs have an undeserved reputation for aggression. I haven't found them to be overly aggressive towards other fish unless the other fish start it. They will eat fish small enough to fit into their mouths, however, so tank mates need to start off large enough to not be thought of as food. Otherwise, I think most C Amer cichlids of similar, or somewhat smaller adult size should be OK. You could try a single convict, or a pair of firemouths. A severum would p[probably work well also.
