What kind of Rainbow am I?

Need id on what kind this is. Was told it was male. It does like to chase the other rainbows. I want to look up how big it's going to get etc.

Yes an Australian but there are several Australian species. It's not a Murray river one I can say that much.

I think it is an Australian. Definitely a vibrant one! (Especially if it is the same as mine. Yours has a lot more oranges/reds)

He's big. like 3 to 4 inches big. I agree could be a hybrid because I just looked up all the rainbows I could find pictures of can't find it. I got him from a guy who called him a "red" but that doesn't jive with the pictures I can find.

Yeah! Like he's got more red/orange than a Murray. But he doesn't have the line like a banded. But then also bigger than a dwarf- and not quite as red

I've been looking up different rainbows too and nothing fits. Did the person you buy then from say how old they are?

There is only one of this kind. He didn't tell me how old but said he bought them all at his LFS. He also was sure the fish is male. I would like a few more if only I could find them! LOL

So strange. He is similar to a banded too- but most the stripes go all the way to their eyes :/

How long has he been in the tank? Maybe he is still kinda stressed from the move and not at his full color??

8 days as of today. He's the big boy of the tank. The only thing he won't chase away from "his" repashy food are the bn plecos. LOL

Yeah my rainbows are pretty aggressive. I didn't expect that at all from them. And they are very piggy and try and keep all the food too

My Denison barbs hang out with them

Whoa! I never saw Denison Barbs before, they are the big guys with the forked tails and black stripe?

Here are the other rainbows. I think 2 are emerald and I don't know the other 2 with the dark stripe.
