What the Heck was that!!!!

Just sitting here at the computer and I looked over at my desktop 5 gal and I saw the weirdest thing.My mystery snail was at the waterline of the tank and there was a tube-like structure extended from just behind the head region to the surface of the water and it was Pulsating as if he was sucking in air!!! What the heck was that does anyone know??

My mystery snail did the same thing! It looked like an elephant trunk. Sorry I can answer your question. Interesting little creatures.

Don't quote me on this but I'm fairly sure that mystery snails breathe air so that was what he was probably doing.

I've read a little bit on snails and if I remember correctly this is natural. If there isn't enough oxygen in the water they will float to the top to get air. This is a good thing, and apparently a wonderful sight to see!
