What type and how many snails do you recommend for a 20g tank

I have a fish only tank now. I really think I need some cleanup crew in my tank. I'm just not sure how many and what type of snails I need. I only have 2 clownfishes.

try a couple astrea snails, and a single nassarius snail if you have a sand bed. what makes you think you need a cleanup crew?

I try to do my best to remove excess food from the tank, but sometimes I just don't have time. I assume the snails would take care of this. Btw I love this forums!!! People reply almost instantly!!!

excess food...you want a nassarius snail. one large one should be enough. they do a pretty good job.

Oh btw I don't have sand. I have gravel. Is this still ok ??

how large are the granules? they like to bury themselves in a sand bed.

They are not big. They are like 2 cm or so. **** I knew I should of gotten live sand when I setup my tank! :/

you can remove it. just vacuum some out with each water change until you have none left, then add dry, aragonite based sand (rinsed well) to the tank.
