Whats up with my fish?

Hey guys I have a platty who has been constantly opening and closing his mouth for about a week. Eats rarely, usualy hangs around the top of the tank or by plants.

Nitrate 20 ppm


All the other fish seem to be fine so I don't know :s

This is very commen in live bearers , how old is it?

I have no idea how old the fish is as I bought him at that size, the tank I have had set up for about 4 months. All my parameters seem normal and all the other fish are behaving normally.

He was swimming around freely about a week ago, as the week progressed it seems he started staying at the top more and more and opening and closing his mouth just about 24/7

Now he is just always there. I fear for this ones life.
