I've got an empty 55g tank lying around at my dad's, and I'm looking for ideas regarding how to stock it. I'm thinking of doing a brackish setup featuring a "freshwater" moray eel. What kinds of fish can live happily in a 55g tank with a moray? I'm hoping to include some figure-eight puffers or perhaps a green-spotted puffer. What are your thoughts on that?

On the other hand, are there any puffers or other moderately-sized oddball predators that can live happily in a 55g freshwater setup?

Any input would be super fantastic!

Does anyone here have experience with freshwater pipefish?

Puffers are bastards but if you really want to do a brackish tank there are a few nice options.

Freshwater lionfish
Dragon goby
The freshwater moray eel of course
Mollies

What exactly are freshwater lionfish?
