White bubble-like things - good or bad?

White bubble-like things, with white dots in them. They've been around for a bit, spreading, getting a bit bigger. Eggs? Algae? (not really green, the photo makes it appear a bit green).

Any idea what these guys are?

They do look like bubble algae. There is a green bubble algae. You do NOT want to pop them if that is the case because they will spread like crazy.

Many thanks! I suppose there is no easy way to get rid of them of course! I have suddenly some caterpillar algae as well, so I must be doing something to cause the conditions for this. Will search to see if I can find what's going on.
