White cyrstal thingys

When i was doing a water change, i noticed these white cyrstal things in the gravel vac. I couldnt syphon them out because they were heavy enough that they fell back down like the gravel. Any idea what they are?

The companies that make aquarium gravel probably use the same equipment to tumble and bag many different styles and colors. A little bit from a previous batch must have found its way into your batch of gravel. Larger than dust, they're too heavy to rinse out. I've found a few pieces of dark blue and jade green coated gravel in my natural river pebbles. I also sometimes see small crystals too.
