Hello!
I take care of some fish tanks for a business. Two of the tanks get this scum? On the rubber part of the filters. Each tank has 2 fx5/6 running. It only happens on the new ones. Just wondering could be causing this? I will add that their tanks are grossly overstocked but I try my best to do what I can.
Haven't tested water too recently but an educated guess would be
Tank 1: ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 40 by the time I change the water each week?
Tank 2: ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate a guess would be 80 to 100+ each week? That's a guess this tank is the very overstocked but there is not much I can do there I try my best to do a large water change each week
Not sure if it's the nitrates causing it as the other tanks don't have it
Oh and they do not allow me to use ANY chemicals to treat the water.
Here's a pic also a pic of tank 2
Let me know if I can provide more info.
Thanks in advance!!
