I've been at this for a short time so I need some help. I have a 20g and a 10g. Two weeks ago I had everything in my 10 die, and over 1/2 of what I had in the 20. It was a contaminant of some kind. Got it all under control in the 20 with bunches of water changes and Paraguard. I tore the 10 all apart, even up new gravel in it. I kept the bio wheel moist and the ceramic rings also. There are live plants in there, and I have been throwing in some algae tabs to create some waste (?) in there. I honestly don't know what I am doing. My question is: if I keep going like this, how long will the tank keep in good shape for when I decide what I want in there? Maybe a month long? (either shrimp, guppies or neons). Thank you!!!

Yep, let it run fish less for a few weeks and then add some and sees what happen. A school of 5 neons and dwarf groumai is what I had in my 10
