Would a serpent star eat a healthy snail?

I just got a shipment of astrea and Mexican turbo snails in. I saw a serpent star eat a astrea snail a while ago but I am not sure if the snail was "healthy. I also saw a scarlet hermit eating one. Would a star do that if the snail was healthy?

I guess they are having a buffet. The snail went into the hole where the serpent stays during the day, So I know the snail was alive and moving around.

Agree, was most likely already sick or dying.
Gotta love a good cleanup crew.
